My recent works explore the possibilities and limitations of art as a visual language.
These pieces balance at the border between abstraction and representation with
certain elements drawing the viewer in and promising connection to the natural world
while others bar the way and deny a clear reference or certian meaning. In this way I
am engaging and exaggerating conflicts always present in a work of art: between the
artist and the viewer; between the concrete fact of the image and its unpredictable
subconscious impact.
